In Progress

"In progress" means at least a first draft or outline plus substantial notes have been written, although it could be closer to publication just without the pub date set. For in progress works, titles are necessarily tentative as they are subject to change in the publication process.

  • Kakuloa Series -- Expected to be four volumes:
    • A Rising Tide (published)
    • The Downhill Slide
    • Crash and Burn
    • The Tide Turns
  • This will be a bridge between the ending of Sawyer's World/The Return, the Jason Curtis era (in particular, the story "Renee"), and the Carson & Roberts era. It covers the expansion of settlement on that planet, in particular the squidberry industry, it's subsequent economic collapse (in Kakuloa: The Downhill Slide and Kakuloa: Crash and Burn) when pharmaceutical companies learn to synthesize the extracted drug, (the rise of the Velkaryans starts to happen here) and finally the resurgence of the economy with other industries (in Kakuloa: The Tide Turns). There are also some looks at what is happening elsewhere in T-space in that timeframe.
  • Set early in the time frame of the Kakuloa series. The first, Discovery, follows the young Paul Fabron and a group of friends who acquire the unused ship Jules Verne (mentioned in Alpha Centauri: First Landing) and set out to see if the mysterious green planet orbiting Delta Pavonis is terraformed or not. (It's no spoiler that it is, since the first-published T-Space story, "Stone Age" (which grew into The Chara Talisman) opens on the planet.) The following volumes show some of the history of a place which features in many of the T-Space tales.

Planned

"Planned" books I intend to write at some point and have an overall idea of where the book fits and a minimal outline.

  • The Starfire Voyages
    • A collection of the Jason Curtis short stories perhaps within an overarching framework.
  • (Untitled)
    • Additional stories or novels covering the initial exploration of T-Space, discovery of the timoans and other species
    • Later T-Space stories resolving some of the questions regarding the Pyramid Builders, the Kesh, etc.
  • (The War Novels, titles to be determined)

See below.

The T-Space Main Series

There is an overall story arc to the T-Space series, beginning with the early missions (such as Alpha Centauri: First Landing, continuing through the Carson & Roberts novels (The Chara Talisman, The Reticuli Deception, The Eridani Convergence, and The Pavonis Insurgence).

The latter in turn are the prelude to "the war novels", which are only loosely defined at this point. The rise of the Velkaryans on Earth and within T-Space vaguely parallels the rise of the Nazis in 1930s Europe, but there are also the mysterious Kesh and Deghidesh. These will be set some time after the Carson & Roberts era, and technology will have advanced some. The climax of the series will come after that, and will resolve some of the larger questions raised (for example, who or what the Terraformers were).

Meanwhile, there is plenty of room for side adventures in the above eras, outside of the main overall arc, both in short form and long. Keep watching the skies.
