Velkaryans
Major antagonists in Carson & Roberts series. Formal name is the Church of Divine Stellar Providence. They believe (or claim to) that God created the terraformed planets for His Chosen: humans. They are also a political movement.
Something of a cross between UFO cultists (like Heaven's Gate) and 1930s National Socialists (Nazis), at least in terms of methods.

To give some flavor to the Velkaryans, here's the description of the main conference room in their Earth headquarters, as described in The Reticuli Deception:

Operation Piranha
Influencing the Venezuela national elections to bring the Velk to power. Strong arm tactics, vote hacking, etc (paralleling rise of Nazis in Germany in 1930s).
Named for the the infamous fish, not the Piranha Brothers.
Operation Jade Ribbon
Verdigris-based operation to seize power there beyond New Toronto, confine the natives to reservations (presumably ultimately concentration/extermination camps), and military buildup. (They have starship manufacturing capability there.)
Named for the venomous gliding snake.
